The Legend of The Moselland Cat Riesling

Moselland Cat Riseling history

The legendary story of the Cat Riesling started many-many years ago, in a small town of Zell, Germany.

One fine day, 3 friends came searching for the best wine in the town of Zell. While wandering around in the local market, they approached a tradesman asking him to let them rest and sit nearby.

When the tradesman got to know that these friends were looking for wine, he opened his barrels and poured them some wine.

While they were tasting the wine, they pointed out to the next barrel when suddenly, a black cat jumped on top of the barrel and arched it’s back, swiping its paw at anyone who approached it.

The strangers bought this wine, thinking that the cat had “chosen” it for them. Little did the cat know, it was going to have a whole wine type named after it.

This black wine bottle is said to bring good-luck to anyone who buys it.
